The strike by Stevedores of Santos harbor remains in force and shall continue for undetermined time.
As previously mentioned, such action being taken by Stevedores in protest against the new port law (MP 595) once the Government is not willing to insert the laborers affiliated to the Syndicate of the Stevedores on the scope of the jobs of the private terminals.
So far, loading operations of bagged sugar are being affected. However, cargo operations of the bulk sugar vessels flowing normally up to as far as verified.
In the other hand, Paranagua Port had the activities back to normal yesterday (May 14th 2013) at 21:00h.
So far, Santos is the only port in Brazil that has his operations affected by the strike.
