At around 09:00hrs on Monday, 10th May, a Munck truck fell into the water in the port of Paranagua. The truck was delivering five drums of lube oil and a ladder to a tugboat when a steel band became caught between the truck and the tugboat and pulled the truck into the water at berth 205.
The truck sunk alongside the quay and rescue work started immediately, including placing oil booms around the area to contain possible oil spills, however none were observed.
The drums, which also fell into the water, were not damaged and were contained at the west end of the quay to be removed. The truck and the drums was removed in the afternoon of the same day.
