FIRE BREAKS OUT IN SHIP LOADED WITH PROPANE GAS IN ARATU

A fire broke out on board the vessel Golden Miller which was loading propane and butadiene gas in the Tequimar Terminal at Aratu on Tuesday (17) night.

The fire started in the ship's engine room and the port Fire Brigade has been battling the flames for more than 12 hours. No one was injured. According to the Aratu Port Administration, CODEBA, there is no risk of the fire spreading to other vessels.

Operations of bulk liquid and gas in the TPG and TGL - South and North Terminal have been suspended until the fire is under control so that the port of Aratu is operating only solid bulk cargoes.
