As from January 2nd, 2014, new actions aim to give more agility to the shipment of grains at the port of Paranagua will be adopted.
Vessels with a defined and validated stowage plan will have preference for berthing at one of the piers at the Export Corridor. The plan must contain the shipment of cargo up to 3 different terminals and loading at least 18.000 tons each. In addition port operators with higher productivity will have a preference at shipment.
Aiming to reduce the queue of trucks, an exclusive courtyard was created for trucks that already have the rated load and ship intended.
Many of the vessels enter in the queue for the Export Corridor without have a consolidated cargo. In the harvest peak, 70% of the vessels alongside does not have a defined cargo.
The actions aim to speed up loading operation of grains at Paranagua and minimizing the stoppages at the Export Corridor.
