SECOND BALLAST WATER EXCHANGE NO LONGER REQUIRED - Vila do Conde port

Kindly note, as recently divulged by Harbor Master in Brazil, it will not be required anymore the performance of the second ballast water exchange until Mosqueiro Pilot Station.

The second ballast water exchange was previously required by Harbor Master due to salinity purposes, since Vila do Conde Port is located in a River many miles away from Atlantic Ocean

This will optimize vessels turnaround, because many ships had to drop anchor in the past, at Mosqueiro Pilot Station, to perform this second ballast water exchange, with a loss of many hours or even days.

However, Harbor Master also informed that will intensify their inspections on ballast water tanks, in all vessels calling Vila do Conde Port.
