In the first semester of 2010, the port of Santos reached the greatest movement ever registered for the period, totaling 44.8 million tons.
This is an increase of 16.6% over the movement in the same period last year. The Sao Paulo State Dock Company (Codesp) stated that the good performance in the first semester has led them to revise their annual projection which should exceed 93.0 million tons.
Among the export cargoes, sugar leads with 7.8 million tons, an increase of 12.6%. The other relevant export cargoes are coal, with an increase of 63.6% and sulphur with an increase of 63.8%.
